The DB12 V8 recalibrates the grand tourer breed. Its Mercedes-AMG co-developed 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 delivers 671bhp, brutal acceleration and a thunderous soundtrack, while sharpened steering, massive grip and a compliant ride make it a surprisingly focused driver's car. The cabin is a huge leap over the DB11, with superb materials and new infotainment, though rear seats remain token.

In US spec, 656 hp rockets it to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds; the retuned chassis, rear-locking differential and active engine mounts make it athletic and playful on a twisty road. The interior is opulent but ergonomically imperfect, and the brake-by-wire system takes some acclimatization.
