Healthline’s dietitian-reviewed article, written by Rachael Ajmera and medically reviewed by Kim Chin, offers a balanced look at NOW Foods supplements. It notes that all NOW products are tested in-house for safety and quality, and that select products are also third-party tested and certified by organizations such as Informed Sport. The article highlights affordability, saying most NOW products cost less than $0.75 per serving, which is a major plus compared with many premium supplement brands. It also praises the sheer variety of vitamins, minerals, powders, and specialty supplements. However, the review points out several drawbacks: not every product is third-party tested or certified, options can be limited for certain dietary restrictions, and some products may not be suitable for people with gluten-related disorders because of potential cross-contamination or ingredient choices. Healthline does not assign a star rating in the provided content, so the rating is null. This is a useful, moderately positive review that encourages checking individual product labels and testing certifications rather than blindly trusting the brand name.

ConsumerLab.com tested 44 NOW Foods products and reported that 38 were Approved for quality, with 20 receiving Top Pick status. This gives a generally favorable impression: a large majority of tested products met independent quality standards. However, five products were not approved, so shoppers should not assume every NOW item is flawless. The same report card also flagged a May 8, 2025 recall of 18,658 units of NOW Nutritional Yeast Powder because regular yeast was inadvertently packaged as nutritional yeast. That recall shows that even a generally well-regarded supplement company can have supply-chain or packaging issues. Because ConsumerLab does not give a simple 1–5 star rating in the provided snippet, I’m leaving the rating as null. Still, the detailed pass/fail testing is useful for comparing NOW products, and the approval rate suggests most items are likely safe and accurately labeled, though the 5 failures and recall are reasons to check specific product reports before buying.
