Used Jaguar F-Pace — common problems and service

The 2019-2020 Jaguar F-Pace and some early 2021 models can experience a parasitic battery drain because the InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment module remains active after shutdown. Symptoms include a flat battery after one to two days of inactivity, random dashboard wake-ups, and voltage below 12 volts. This can leave the owner stranded and necessitate repeated jump-starts or premature battery replacement.

The 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace with the 3.0L Ingenium engine and 48V mild-hybrid system can suffer from belt-driven starter/generator (BSG) failures. Symptoms include amber engine warning lights, start-stop unavailability, hesitation on restart, and in some cases the engine failing to start. This can lead to towing and electrical system lockout. The repair involves replacing the BSG and possibly the 48V battery.

Certain 2019-2020 Jaguar F-Pace vehicles have a faulty rear seat back latch mechanism that may not stay locked. The seat back can fold forward unexpectedly in a collision or heavy braking, increasing injury risk. The repair is free of charge under the manufacturer's safety recall.

The optional factory air suspension on 2019-2024 Jaguar F-Pace models (common on S, R-Sport, HSE, and SVR trims) can develop air leaks in the rear air springs or compressor dry air intake. Symptoms include the vehicle sitting lower on one corner overnight, the compressor running continuously or tripping a suspension fault light, and a harsh ride. Consequences include compressor overheat and failure, unlevel vehicle, and potential drivability issues.

The 2019-2021 Jaguar F-Pace with the 2.0L Ingenium engine (P250 petrol and D180/D240 diesel) can experience coolant leaks from the water pump housing and oil leaks from the oil filter adapter. Symptoms include puddles of coolant or oil under the front of the engine, low coolant warnings, and overheating risk. If ignored, it can lead to heater core failure or engine overheating damage.
